Caramel-Apple Bread Pudding

4 eggs,
2/14 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. vanilla
1/8 t. ground nutmeg
2 c. bread cubed
1 6-oz pkg. dried apples
I used fresh-one whole apple

In a large bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. Set aside.
In a large ungreased 8x1-1/2 in. baking dish, toss together dry bread cubes and apples. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread-apple mixture. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 to 45 mins. Serve warm with the Caramel-Nut Sauce

Caramel-Nut Sauce

In a small sauce pan melt 1/4 c. butter. Stir in 1/2 c. packed brown sugar and 1 T. light corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil. Stir in 1/4 c. whipping cream. Return to boil. Remove from heat. Stir in chopped pecans. Serve warm-makes about 1 cup.
